White balance testing

Image
This image I used luminescent lighting mode and for this image changed the colour using a luminescent white balance mode to make it more greener. I edited this image in Adobe Bridge Camera Raw, originally a yellowish image I changed the temperature, tint and saturation to make it more of a blue image. I also edited this image in Adobe Bridge Camera Raw, originally a blue-ish image I changed the temperature, tint and saturation to make it more of a yellow image.   Here is the custom white balancing I did by taking a picture of a white page and then measuring it for my custom white balance.

Photographic styles

I have deduced from watching these videos that photographic style isn't something that stems from simply taking photos, it can also stem from your personality to be an extension of yourself and how you approach photography can be precisely what makes your photography better. I also learned to take a lot, and I mean a lot of photos, years worth until you truly begin to make improvements, of which will never stop getting better. Finally I learned that photography style should be something you use in all your photos to show a similarity between the all, not just jumping from one bright colour to a dark one all the time.

Ansel Adams

Image
Ansel Adams I chose Ansel Adams as he was a landscape photographer and one of the founders of the department of photography in America. I quite like landscape photography and I feel his photos still hold up today.  I feel he uses the lightings in his photos very effectively as he allows for gorgeous shots of land or sky but also uses shadow or light to illuminate a subject in his photos, see the above for examples with the landscapes being beautiful however the very dark trees are really what draws the eye in. I believe he used these lighting skills to the best of his ability and made otherwise bland photos jump out with a kind of nature or foreboding atmosphere.

For this photo I tried to recreate the pipe of the titanic with a fireplace liner that I found outside. For this photo I was taking photos of things above me when I remembered this birdbox for the first time in years, along with its rule of thirds applied to the photo I like the drop of red in a bland background in this photo. For this photo I was taking pictures of a well near my house and this photo I found most interesting with the rust looking like it's slowly spreading from the chain to the bucket like a disease For this photo the aim was to keep an object in the four corners of the photo, for this example its the statue of the boy and he's in the bottom right corner I just really wanted to take a close up flower picture for my abstract photo and I finally found one worth taking a photo of For this photo I had to take a photo while standing in one spot and one spot only so I increased the field of view as much as I could and took a photo of the spot I chose
