Content Management Systems CDM Year 3 Publishing Task 3 B00138525 – Jack Roche   The general process I used to migrate was All-In-One WP Migration Plugin, which I found by searching for it on my WordPress Dashboard in the new plugin’s tab. This plug-in was suggested to us by our lecturer and served to export and import our sites to a certain size. To avail of this size concern, I exported my must-use plug-ins, database and so on, but chose to not carry over my other plug-ins, opting to install them from the hosting WordPress dashboard instead. The CA2 site can be found here . I used Infinity Free to host the site. I chose to use TwentyTwenty as my theme as it was clean and simple and allowed me to make multiple changes or use code snippets without restraint from paywalls. The site also uses plug-ins listed here to do the following- • WooCommerce- Used for CTA buttons and general ecommerce utilities such as a basket • Hubspot- Implementation of a Live Chat feature •

Content Management Systems- Publishing Task 2

Publishing Task 2 Jack Roche  Introduction Here I will showcase what I wish my CMS website to be, what two UX features I will be using, why I am using this features and how these features are going to be implemented by me. What we'll build? I plan to create an e-commerce site that will sell paintings. Within this e-commerce site I plan to incorporate a home page and a products page with rows of paintings. These paintings will be clickable for more info. The two UX features I plan to use are primary call to action buttons (CTA's) and filter systems like below:   Non-academic source on UX considerations:  https://www.uxbooth.com/articles/ux-considerations-for-building-an-amazing-cms/   Academic Source on CTA buttons:  https://dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.1145/3278252.3278276     Why build it? The motives behind the website are I would like to learn how to make an e-commerce site for future use and experience, and the paintings are a personal choice. The UX elements I want to implement a

Growth Mindset 11

Source: https://fs.blog/carol-dweck-mindset/  This week I learned more about Carol Dweck the doctor who coined the phrase Growth Mindset. I learned this week exactly what constitutes as a fixed mindset. People with a fixed mindset avoid challenges, give up at obstacles, see effort as fruitless, ignore useful negative feedback and feel threatened by the success of others. However, people with growth mindset seam to take a lot of these elements in stride and try to become better from each one, for example they are ready to embrace challenge, persist in the face of setbacks and so on. I feel this is a very important mindset to have in college and general life, there's no one who can be perfect all the time or in this case "smart", everyone has their own unique challenges and strengths but these challenges are belittled and these strengths can always be enhanced with a growth mindset and some hard work.

Growth Mindset 12

Source: https://www.mindsetworks.com/science/  This week I learned about Dr Dweck who coined the term "Growth Mindset" as well as the experiments made in fiske elementary school that showed a growth mindset can result in a much higher effort from a student body at large, which in turn can result in better grades. A growth mindset can also be something that can be caused in a brain, deviating from a fixed mindset, which is when someone instead of being given praise for their hard work and effort is instead given praise as being smart. A result of this is when students underperform or fail tests, those with fixed mindsets are defeated by this news and can become upset or give up on the task at hand, meanwhile those with a growth mindset can be found to preform admirable better on a second test, being able to learn and grow more from their failure than their fixed counterpart.  I find these traits admirable, the ability to be able to bounce back from any certain failure and try

Reading 12

Reflection on creating a chapter for this years book: I enjoyed researching, learning, and generally finding out more about VR, AR and XR. I also enjoyed challenging myself on my own knowledge of the technology and versions of it, for example I had heard of The Sword of Damocles but I never actually seen a picture of it before until now. I enjoyed learning about the history of an aspect of gaming you don't usually see YouTube video's or retrospective documentaries on often,  cause for a lot of people VR, AR and XR are entirely new concepts but in reality they have been present in our day to day lives for a significant amount of time already!
